What’s new in DataEase 7.2.3?
“Confirm changes” message box now suppress able via Document Properties.
Button F5 (“Clear Form”) action is changed; it acts in the same way, independent of the filtering mode.
New styles now work in Table View.
New font in query editor (Calibri) and a new command line argument to set the initial windows position.
Fonts such as Web Dings are now supported.
Default setting for “Share local database” is changed to OFF.
Warning about lost image file is turned off.
Password field dialog style in Application Security dialog is changed.
Maximum password length is increased to 52 to allow for higher security.
Create a New application creates new application in single user mode (instead of multiuser mode).
OLEDB provider is removed from installation. This is now a separate installation for non-Windows 7 users.

What’s new in DataEase 7.2?
New Open/New/Rename/Delete Application dialog that combines all functionality and introduces open Recent applications.
Open Recent Application is introduced to make it easier to get started with no need to navigate to the Application every time.
Preview of Styles and Applications.
Default directory when starting DataEase is now My DataEase under My Documents, consistent with other Windows applications.
New Welcome dialog that make it easier to start, open samples and Tutorials.
New modern look in the application, on dialogs and controls.
New modern styles. None style updated to modern look.
New look on system forms
New Sample Applications for the first time in 15 years. These will evolve with the product and are live applications.
Alignment of labels and fields and outside measurements of objects in forms are fixed so that grid functionality work as intended.
Defaults for New Layout is changed so defaults is more in line with users expectance.
Styling of sub forms, tab controls etc is harmonized so that all objects now style the same and all styles work.
Migration of Applications is fixed to handle Extended Characters.
Improved screen updating, removing flashing and unwanted behavior when navigating a form
Full size Catalog with improved look and feel.
Toolbar reorganized and moved to the right of screen and grouped in a sensible way.
Control palette permanently moved to top and glued there.
Updated ruler to a modern look and corrected for metric users
Grid fixed so it corresponds with ruler, grid/ruler options fixed and set to sensible presets.
Added an image search algorithm, makes the application look for images in the following order; “application catalog”, “DataEase program catalog”
Default style instead of none on new application, DEFAULT.STY located in “DataEase program catalog”. This style can be edited by developer.
DataEase default for controls, records and forms updated to modern look when a style is not applied.
DENAME reintroduced to fix problems with shared DataEase installations. DENAME supersedes all other settings.
Tab Control fully functional and fully support styling and multiple sub forms.
Default values for fields extended from 15 to 40 for text and image fields.
Default support for most common graphic formats
Multibox consistent with 6.5 lookup and now with multiple fields dropdown and relation override, extensive bug fixing.
Memo field extensively debugged and now works as intended and will now hold 64k
Removed dialog when creating labels, boxes etc (the one that asked you to name the object, can now be accessed on right click)

Removed automatic select content from fields as default in edit mode
Removed OLEDB support as Microsoft has discontinued support
Removed message box at startup informing of missing language resources
Possibility to create your own catalog help by editing files in “DataEase program files” and changing dataease.ini entries found in [CATALOGHELP] section
